As your landlord West Dunbartonshire Council has a statutory duty to carry out a gas safety check of your property at least every twelve months. We will check Council owned gas appliances, flues and pipe work.
If you do not provide access for the annual gas service (safety check) we will be force entry to your home
We will contact you to arrange a convenient appointment for your gas safety check, we can offer evening and Saturday morning appointments if required. If you need to rearrange your appointment please contact our Gas Contractor City Technical as soon as possible.

If you smell gas, please phone the emergency number 0800 111 999 immediately. This is a freephone number unless calling from a mobile phone.
Repairs to any gas appliances you have installed are your own responsibility. You should report repairs to gas fires or boilers in the normal way.
If you do not allow us access to your property to carry out an annual safety check you will be in breach of your tenancy agreement and we will take you to court.

Gas appliances require annual servicing to ensure they are working safely and efficiently. Our Responsibilities explained in more detail.
You may not notice any danger signs until it is too late. This is why the annual safety check is important. However, if you notice any of the following please contact us.
Symptoms can include drowsiness, headaches, chest pains, sickness, diarrhoea and stomach pains. If you develop these symptoms suddenly and for no apparent reason when you use a gas appliance switch off all your appliances and contact your doctor.
