Our See My Ability Pathway is for children aged 5+ with complex additional support needs who are currently unable to participate in the main group lessons. The sessions offer opportunities for children with complex needs to progress at their own pace through the learn to swim programme.
The lessons will be delivered to small groups (e.g. 1 teacher to 3 children). To accommodate as many children as possible, a parent/carer is required to support their child in the water during each lesson.
Children will follow the Scottish Swimming Learn to Swim Framework, which provides the opportunity for children to progress into the main group lessons if and when able to do so.
Please note that these lessons are not available to any children who are currently attending the main learn to swim programme.
These lessons are part funded by West Dunbartonshire Council and are for West Dunbartonshire residents only.

The Swimming Development Team will contact you to discuss your child’s needs and the best pathway for them to learn to swim. Please note that you may be asked to attend an informal assessment at one of our venues as part of this process. This is a new programme and there are a limited number of spaces. Therefore a waiting list will be held when spaces are allocated.
Our See My Ability Pathway will deliver lessons over a 48 week period and guarantee you a minimum of 45 lessons per year. The price of 45 lessons is averaged out over 12 monthly direct debit payments of £16.80.
